He was the kind of guy who didn’t just fix things, he figured them out. Whether it was a busted water heater, a noisy air handler, or a broken-down pickup, he didn’t flinch. He’d roll up his sleeves, spit in his palm, and get to work.

As a kid, I just wanted to make him proud. So I watched. I learned. I listened. And the day I finally fixed something on my own, he looked at me with a grin and said,

“Now that’s a CrackerJack job.”

I asked him what that meant. He smiled and said,

“Don’t you know? A CrackerJack is someone exceptional.
No shortcuts. 110%. Always.”

He could see how hard I worked to impress him — so he gave me one last piece of advice I’ve carried with me ever since:

“Brandon, when you work for others, give them the same effort you give when you’re trying to impress me.
Be a CrackerJack, always.”

That moment changed everything. It shaped how I work. How I lead. How I live.

So when I built this company, I knew what to name it — not for branding, but for legacy.
